The Next Century of Kruger Starts with Its People

As the Kruger National Park celebrates its centenary this year, the world’s attention naturally turns to a century of conservation success. For 100 years, this remarkable place on our planet has protected wildlife, preserved ecosystems, and inspired generations of travellers from around the world.

Yet the future of Kruger depends on more than the landscapes and animals that make it so extraordinary. It depends on people.

At Kruger Shalati, we believe that meaningful conservation and community upliftment go hand in hand. Of our 138 team members, 77 are young people from communities surrounding the park, representing 55.8% of our workforce. Through employment, mentorship, and hands-on hospitality training, we are helping to equip the next generation with skills, confidence, and opportunities that shape their futures in a meaningful way.
