Back then, a passenger train made an overnight stop on the Sabie Bridge, thanks to the efforts of Colonel James Stevenson-Hamilton, the park’s first warden. Guests stepped off the train to explore the bush with a ranger, enjoy evenings around a campfire, and even listen to the melodies of a grand piano under the African sky.
