100 Years of Kruger. Only 100 Bed Nights.
There is a moment just before the rains return where everything feels suspended.
The earth is dry. The air is charged. The sky gathers itself.
Kruger Shalati opened in December 2020 – possibly the worst year in recent history to open a hotel, but we remained positive.
It’s five months in and it’s been nothing short of amazing – for us, as well as our guests. Our guests’ positive feedback has been overwhelming:
“One of the most amazing bathroom views I’ve ever seen” @bosveld_blommetjie
“As far as Pools go, this has to beat them all” @yakochevnik
“I’ve never been a fan of the term ‘bucket list’ (I call mine a life list), but no matter what you call your collection of dreams, a stay at Kruger Shalati: The Train on the Bridge definitely must be on it!” – Jacquie Gauthier
“After experiencing many premium lodges I can confidently rate The Train the premier experience in Kruger bar none.” – Antonio Da Cruz
As a very regular Kruger visitor over the past 40 years, I can honestly say it was an incredible experience. To be suspended so high above the river was amazing” – Peter Hall
It’s not just the guests that love us. We’re thrilled to have been featured in many a Best-of lists. Here are some of the prestigious lists Kruger Shalati has made it onto:

“Receiving Two MICHELIN Keys is an incredible honour,” says General Manager Gavin Ferreira. “But what makes it meaningful is that it reflects the passion of our team and the spirit of the place we are privileged to share with our guests.”
